Title: In Conversation with Self, Size: 14x 7 x 53
Amid the demands and noise of everyday life, In Conversation with Self holds a moment of inward stillness. The figure turns towards its own presence, its body resting within an architectural enclosure that offers both shelter and restraint. A hollow in the torso gives visible form to an invisible interior—a space where memories, doubts, and desires can quietly meet. Earthy tones and a weathered texture suggest the traces of lived experience. The sculpture invites us to linger in this intimate pause, where listening to oneself becomes an act of recognition and care.
About Artist
I am Nidhi Mahajan Sharma, a sculptor, educator, and researcher based in Delhi. I completed my BFA and MFA in Sculpture from the Government College of Art, Chandigarh, and have been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Sculpture Department at the College of Art, New Delhi, since 2020. I have also qualified UGC NET and am currently pursuing my PhD in Sculpture from the College of Art, University of Delhi.
As an artist, my practice is deeply rooted in personal experiences, emotions, and observations of everyday life. I use sculpture as a means to document and express these experiences, while exploring emotions that are personal yet universal. Through my work, I aim to create a space where viewers can connect their own experiences and emotions with mine.
